In the summer of 2020 I was approached by a community project based in my hometown of Hawick. The group run a website called Town of 1000 Trails, a nature-trails website designed to encourage tourism in the Scottish Borders, with particular emphasis on nature tourism (walking, hiking, and cycling).
I was commissioned to research the history and culture behind over 100 ‘Points of Interest’ in the Scottish Border region, and to turn my research into engaging, informative, and attractive articles. The articles are now live on the Town of 1000 Trails website, and allow those who use the website to plot their various hiking and cycling routes to learn a little more about the sights they’ll see along the way.
All of the articles found on the Points of Interest section of the website were written and researched by myself. You can visit the website here: https://www.townof1000trails.co.uk/points-of-interest
(At time of writing – 04.06.21 – the website is still in the process of being populated with my articles).
For the research and writing of 104 articles, I billed 79 hours.
